Calls > Fresh Thinking Talks

Overview

ADBIS 2026 will feature a Fresh Thinking Talks track, with 5-minute presentations delivered without interruptions for questions. Each Fresh Thinking Talk highlights a core research idea, whether a technique or a technology, that a young researcher (PhD student or researcher up to four years after the PhD) wishes the whole community knew about.

We invite abstracts that put forward visionary ideas, describe challenging problems, and share recent results and lessons learned. Findings may be preliminary, but they should be clearly articulated and sufficiently substantiated.

Important Dates

All deadlines are 11:59 PM AoE

  • Fresh Thinking Talks abstract submission deadline: June 1, 2026
  • Notification of acceptance: June 30, 2026
  • Camera-ready abstract: July 15, 2026

Accepted Fresh Thinking Talks abstracts will be published in Springer's Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS) series.

Submission Guidelines

The page limits are as follows:

  • Fresh Thinking Talks abstract: 4 LNCS style pages, including references

Papers should be submitted in PDF format using the CMT online submission system

ADBIS uses single-blind reviewing, meaning authors should list their names and affiliations in their submissions.

Authors should consult Springer’s authors’ guidelines and use their proceedings templates, either for LaTeX or for Word, for the preparation of their papers. Springer encourages authors to include their ORCIDs in their papers. In addition, the corresponding author of each paper, acting on behalf of all of the authors of that paper, must complete and sign a Licence-to-Publish agreement. The corresponding author, who must match the corresponding author marked on the paper, must have the full right, power, and authority to sign the agreement on behalf of all of the authors of a particular paper, and accepts responsibility for releasing this material on their behalf. Once the files have been sent to Springer, changes relating to the authorship of the papers cannot be made.

An author of an accepted Fresh Thinking Talks abstract must register for ADBIS 2026 to have the paper published, and accepted abstracts must be presented at the conference by one of the authors.
